Our Story
Long ago, as I watched an elderly uncle restore an ancient wooden trunk, my fascination with the art of woodworking was kindled.
That spark ignited my journey into woodworking, where I became enamored with the materials, the tactile sensation, and the unique scent each wood type emits as it's shaped into the various pieces I've created over the years.
As you might deduce from the name of this gig, my name is Lorenzo. I was raised in the rural Northeast of Italy, where beech forests blend with alpine slopes dotted with spruces, chestnut trees, and various other conifers, making the region a melting pot of cultures in search of the excellent building material that timber provides.
I derive inspiration from my rural upbringing, where functionality was paramount, yet it never overshadowed the essence of character and look.
Much of my design inspiration stems from my passion for minimalism and Danish furniture, known for its clean lines, sleek aesthetics, and functionality, as well as Italian design and the iconic objects that surrounded me during my upbringing.
Some of my favorite furniture makers include Sam Maloof, George Nakashima, Ernest Joyce, and Alan Peters from the past, as well as Giordano Vigano and Fratelli Levaggi, renowned for their chairs, among others.
